I'm also suggesting that people must be on something if they are engaging in really tedious activities.

Are you implying something like the "their daddies and mommies didn't love them enough as a child?" argument?

A friend of mine, Rocky, plays GW with just one arm. Some of you Euro GvG people may know him as Rockstar (not his IGN). Very good player, I'm amazed at the fact that he can play so good with his condition. If you play with him and you wouldn't know, you wouldn't be able to tell either

There's been times where I'm on GW when in serious need of sleep, but activities remain limitted to chatting to people on such occasions.

Whenever I'm on Gws after I've had a few I usually end up abusing my Guildies, giving my stuff away (oshit) or dying my armour gay colours.
Fun.

Well, reaction times etc. do become better when u have a little bit of alcohol in your blood. But after to much alcohol, it will get alot worse!
I'm sometimes playing when tired. Actually, i am tired right now! I can barely keep my eyes open

Sleep deprived?
I don't think there's been a time where I wasn't sleep deprived while playing. Or, for that matter, at any point within the past 10 years.
I will admit that going through and wrecking the inhabitants of the mountain troll cave outside of Drok's is something I like to do when I'm stressed and just want to quickly and easily destroy things to calm down, though. It's surprisingly good for that.

Came in one night after a seriously heavy night of drinking. Thought it would be a cracking idea to farm some ecto...it wasn't.
Loaded up Guild Wars, managed to get to ToPK, threw up all over my laptop and passed out.
£300 quid repair and killer hangover. Safe to say I now hide my laptop away when I go out...

I feel bad for whoever had to repair your laptop.
I don't drink or party, so I've only ever played sleep-deprived. I'm not "better" that way, but nor do I take it out on people. GW doesn't give me the catharsis I need when stressed out -- not enough hacking away at stuff.
I'm always surprised to see how many people play/post intoxicated. Legendary Survivor is obviously not an interest for them.

I have played GWs off and on for 5 years, almost from the beginning. I always have played to escape from real life. And especially this past year. Illness, infidelity, divorce, death, foreclosure, I even lost my dog.
GW has been a refuge for me. I don't play for any reason other than to forget real life for a bit and have some fun. I don't get caught up in being any good at it. I just play for a stress free enjoyment. 99% solo. Which means no DoA or some other "elite" areas. No big deal. If it happens, it happens.
I have played drunk and sleep deprived. I have no idea if I am better or worse when I do. I do not care.
It is only an escape for me.

I sometimes play while moderately intoxicated. It doesn't really affect my overall performance except that my reaction time is a bit worse, but I am also aware of that and try to make up for it by watching the field more and be more vocal.
When I play tired though, I'm terrible in every possible way and can do nothing to make up for it, except maybe log off and get some sleep.
